Rubio Monocoat Oil Plus 2C shows Food Contact Compliance

 

Our Rubio Monocoat Oil Plus 2C has been one of the most versatile wood oils for many years now. You can apply it to floors, furniture, stairs, etc. And our oil is also ideal for worktops and other surfaces where food is involved. Rubio Monocoat Oil Plus 2C is now declared safe to be used in contact with food. But what does that mean?

As our product lives up to the European Toy Standard, we also wanted to make sure

that our Rubio Monocoat Oil Plus 2C can be used on wood that comes into contact

with food. Eurofins has tested Rubio Monocoat Oil Plus 2C according to underlying

specification of European Framework Regulation 1935/2004 for Food Contact Materials,

and the test result show that Rubio Monocoat Oil Plus 2C is in full compliance, when

applied to a wooden surface.

It is therefore safe to use Rubio Monocoat Oil Plus 2C on a wooden surface that is in itself food safe, then the combination of the wood and our Oil Plus 2C is also safe and therefore in compliance with regulation with EC n° 1935/2004. This declaration is the result of an official test, done by Eurofins, an official independent testing institute.

In practice, this means that cutting boards, kitchen worktops, tabletops, etc. that have been treated with Rubio Monocoat Oil Plus 2C are also safe for household use which becomes more and more a recommendation for a lot of projects.
